Venice in the summer

Hi All,

I thought you might all like to hear about our recent trip to Venice and to see some photos of the city. We had a wonderful time there and it was perfect weather too! Venice was even prettier than i imagined it would be and for a while i was stopping at every bridge to take another photo...

The Canals of Venice

The paths along the canals

On our first evening we ate dinner along side the grand canal and then wandered back to our hotel stopping for a red wine or 3 on the way.

The next morning we followed the crowd of tourist towards SanMarco and the Basilica where we were able to climb the Basilica and get an fantastic view of the square and the crowds gathered there.

By that afternoon we were both a little over the amount of tourist that are in Venice and decided to explore some of the quiter areas away from the 100's of souvenier shops and icecream sellers. I'm so glad we did too as we found a lovely pary of the city that was almost empty and just beautiful. Below is a picture of the sunset from that night.

On our last full day we began at the Rialto Markets and then headed again to San Marcos where we climbed the bell tower for a spectacular view of Venice.

Next we went to Dodge`s Palace and then walked along the water past the Bridge of Sighs. From there we caught a water bus back down to the Grand Canal to Ponte dei Scalzi which was close to our hotel.

I hope you've liked the picture and (short) stories of our time there.

I'll be home soon they'll be much much more where this all came from

Love Cherry x x
