Paris - Day 1 and 2

So internet is back up and running and i've got a time now to go through some more of the photos i took in Paris.
We arrived in Paris at about 4pm on the Friday - should have been about an hour or more earlier but there was a broken down train on the tracks (not ours) that meant we were stuck. Eurostar though did offer everyone 50% off vouchers for the next time we travel though so can't really complain.
We caught the Metro to Javel where our flat was and then headed straight back out stretch our legs. Mum and Dad stayed in the flat to cook dinner (never realised it they would come in so handy hehehe) Nick and I walked from the flat to the Eiffel Tower, about a 20 min walk. As you can see by the time we got there it was already getting dark... but really we couldn't have picked a better time. On the hour every hour after 5pm for 10mins the tower is lit up with twinkling fair lights - it's just amazing and oh so beautiful. I tried to get some photos but they don't justify it at all so you'll all just have to come and see it for yourselves.

This is one of Nick and I standing on the trocadero, one of my standard hold the camera up myself and snap - i'm getting very good at them really.

We had quite a long walk that night, from the Eiffel Tower to the Trocadero and then to the Arch de Triumph , down the Champs-Elysees and on to Concord.

On the Saturday after a breakfast of pane chocolates and croissants we all headed off to the Louvre and a walk thought the Tuileries.

After reading the Da Vinci Code it was really interesting to see the Glass Pyramid entrace to the Louvre again.

Ofcourse we saw the Mona Lisa - Wasn't that impressed the first time i saw it and to be honest i'm still not... but I did find a new favourite statue in the Louvre this time - i have always loved the
Winged Victory of Samothrace and the Venus de Milo but this time i found Pysche and Cupid. I just thought it was so amazingly beautiful. I've included one of the many photos i took of it below.

After the Louvre we went to Notre Dame and then stopped for a wicked hot chocolate in a cafe beside the river.

Next stop from there was a comic shop that Nick had heard of - what he couldn't believe was that all the comic bokk shops in Paris (who would have thought there were more that one...) were on the same street. Nick's eyes lit up like Christmas as he wandered though aisle after aisle ...

From there the four of us wandered more thought the Latin quarter and then down St Germain until our feet were too tired to go on.

I'll post the other 2 days in Paris soon. For now tho hope you are all well and enjoying the lead up to Christmas.

Congratulations too to Amanda and Rob on the Birth of little Ruby Jude - give her a kiss from me!

Love Cherry x
