Working 9 to 5
So i have started my new job and it seems like it will be a great place to work. I'm based right near Piccadilly Circus, great location! Perks so far.... i get a laptop and i have a lunch buddy! 'What's a lunch buddy?' Well it's when a new person in the company gets teamed up with a person that has been there a while and th company pays for them to go to lunch 4 times. Sweet deal!
I even got an invite to go to the pub with a bunch of ppl on Friday at lunch time - i've learnt to be brave and use the 'i'm new will you be my friend?' line. Well perhaps not that blatantly but i did email one of the girls and say "Hi I'm the new girl" I was quite proud of myself actually!
So work will be training on the HelpDesk for about 3 months and then i get moved on to consulting (which is what i was hired for). The HelpDesk stint is to become familiar with the product. The company is quite big - about 100 in the office but they are international with offices in Aust, USA, NZ, South Africa and Europe so with any luck i might just get some OS travel! Right O - that is work now for fun stuff! Friday night was a big night and Nick and I are still feeling a little off (tho we both have colds too so that may account for it)
Today we went to Portabello Road with Louise and Michelle. The markets have all these stands with antique broaches and earrings and rings and i just loved looking thru it all. Picked up two great broaches which look sweet as on my new coat. Oh did i mention I got the Ted Baker coat i had been dreaming about for Christmas from Nick - I love it and i feel like a true Londoner when wearing it!
Climbed St Paul's the day before I started work - amazing views of the city but i think i would like to climb it again in the summer as it was quite overcast and WAY windy.
Louise leaves on Monday which will be a bit sad (tho i am excited for her too as i know how much fun she will have with a big reception at the airport) It's been wonderful having her here and Louise if you read this
Enjoy every second of being home, sleeping in your own bed and not living out of a backpack. It's been just great to see you, hear your stories, see your photos and explore London together!Hope all is well
Love lots Cherry x
