York for the weekend
Hi there all,
Thought it was time i wrote again and since i'm away next week it might be a while before i get to write again.
All things are well here, tho i'm finding work a little tuff, compared to the rest of my time work is so dull... i guess it's coz i'm new but i just don't seem to get the satisfaction out of it. It's much more independent work too plus i never knew i thrived so much on praise, just getting told I'm doing a good job makes me feel more motivated and i haven't had much feedback at all in this new role... so who knows how i'm going.
Anyway enough about work since in the next 2 weeks i'm here all of 3 days! Yeeha!
Nick and I went to York last weekend which was really great. It was a welcome home party for my cousin Ali and it was really nice to see him again. We drove up with Sue and John Douglas and there daughter Hannah (who is just a few months older than me). We arrived at about 3pm ready for a quick (massive) lunch and then headed to Maurice and Halah’s house for the party. Lots of food and drink in true York Dodson style! By about 9pm when we were just too tired to go on. Nick and i headed back to 101 East Parade then and sat with Tom watching the snooker, which he claims is a sport of Gods or some such nonsense...
On Sunday Nick and i walked into York and had breakfast at Betty's which is a tea house right in the middle of town. I've always wanted to go there but it's always packed. This time... finally i got my scones and jam and cream and you know what... they were not as good home... in fact Mum when you get here i might just need you to make a batch for me x
If anyone reading this would like to pass on a scone recipe please either email me it or leave it in the comments = )
Sunday afternoon was a party lunch for Vicky’s daughter Grace who turns 2 on the 25th April. No fairy bread tho... which i was a bit disappointed about = P We then piled in the car to begin the 4hr drive back to London.
Hope you are all well and enjoying the posts.
Grandma I hope all the celebrations for your birthday go well. I really wish i could be there. I will try and call you on Saturday evening at Helens to see how the party is going.
Love to all
Cherry xxx
