Sport and Beer in the Summer
London to me seems to be back to normal now - I am sure of this as there was a lady who was fairly rude to me as i exited the tube station this morning... with a sigh i thought to myself - 'ah London..!'
Last weekend was all about beer and sport, beer and sport oh and the odd Pimms too! Saturday after interviewing a potential housemate Nick and I and Damien headed down to Acton to watch D's bro play cricket - opened the batting just as we arrived and scored a easy 43 before a miss call that left him siding into the stumps just seconds to late...much to the disappointment of the massive crowd, 7 in total! After the cricket we went to the Price Albert in Notting hill for a few jugs of Pimms (the latest summer drink in London) and a meal.
Sunday was a slow morning which suited me fine and then in the afternoon we headed in to town to see an exhibition at the National Portrait Gallery to see an exhibition on the most photographed people in the world. The exhibition was really interesting. There were some amazing shots of Muhammad Ali training under water and then some very chic Audrey Hepburn pics too.
From there we wandered through Trafalgar Sq (where this weekend there was a Harare Krishna festival) to the Charing Cross station. Trafalgar Sq reminds me of the top of the magic far away tree, written but Enid Blighton, as every week a new festival appears just as a new land appeared for Moon face and the Enchanted forest folk.
We caught the northern line to Clapham Common where Nick was meeting his basketball team for a game of 3 on 3. After 1 1/2 hours the boys had sufficiently exhausted themselves in the heat and then headed to the pub for a few beers before heading home, with a quick stop for Chinese on the way. I fell in to bed exhausted.... only to find myself back to at another Monday morning... argh!
Oh well only 4 more sleeps and it's the weekend again!
Actually i can’t complain as on Monday night Nick and i went to dinner with Jen and Michelle (friends of mine from school that are over for a few weeks) and Sarah, Michelle and Anzel. It was a really fun night and sheesh i ate so much that i clearly remember lying in bed thinking i was going to chuck at any minute...i guess that means it was yummy food = )
This Friday should be good fun too - My cousin Tom is coming from York to stay and on the Saturday we are heading to Regents Park to watch the Ashes on the big screen - no doubt more beer will be included.
Hope you are all well and keeping warm.
Love Cherry xxxx
