Cambridge
Nick and I spent last Sunday in Cambridge and were both very impressed with just how beautiful the town was. Cambridge University is made up of 31 different collages - each one more picturesque than the last plus we managed to visit on a day where there was not a cloud in the sky and the sun was glorious.First thing we did when we arrived was go punting down the river - decided rather than to do the hard work we'd jump on one of the chauffeured ones and it was well worth it - so peaceful and a great way to see the collages.
Our guide for the trip Jamie was studying at Queens Collage and had just begun his Masters in mathematics - would love to have chatted to him about his studies but that's the maths g33k coming out and i thought i'd not risk it.. hehehe
He told us all about the many collages, and pointed out the one that had been used in the Harry Potter films. I was surprised to know that many of the beautiful old building were student accommodation! Every student that attends Cambridge is guaranteed a room and that there are only 3 terms of 8 weeks each - sounds fantastic but alas too good to be true as during the 8 weeks there are lectures on both Saturday and Sundays too....Even more amazing than the collages were the bridges across the river. Here are some of my favorites.
Our cruise along the river
Student Accomodation - a room with a view!

The Mathematical Bridge - there are no screws, nails or bolts in this Bridge - quite impressive!
Kings College School Chapel
This building was used in the Harry Potter films

The busy river on a sunny Sunday afternoon
After our boat ride we spent the rest of the afternoon strolling around the grounds of all the colleges and then treated ourselves to a meal by the river. It was a fantastic day and i would recommend anyone that comes to London to spend the day there.
I think if i had been born in the UK it's where i would have always wanted to study... but we all know how good i am at getting past week 8 of any degree... still tho in Cambridge 'talk' that's a whole term!
Love Lots Cherry xxxxxxx
