Highgate cemetery

Today Nick and I went to Highgate cemetery - It was just beautiful - so peaceful and quite. We were luckily enough to arrive just as a tour was starting and spent the next hour being shown around the Western cemetery by one of the volunteers -a lovely old lady - (we agreed after she could easily have been 70+) who told us all about the history of the cemetery and the famous people buried there.
It would have been nice to be able to have time to wander around the overgrown gardens on our own rather than sticking to the paths but that aside it was a beautiful way to spend a sunny sunday afternoon.
My favorite graves were the ones with angel statues on the top - similar to the one I have posted here. I've takes nearly 20 photos and I'm hoping to get some printed off - I think they would look wonderful in black and white too.
