an Australian abroad

Ok quick update from work - wanted to share with you all how important Australia Day feels when you are not in Australia.
There is a beach party in Trafalgar Sq tomorrow including a celebrity cricket match... have a feeling it might be the first one ever cancelled due to snow....
There is also an Australian Film festival and every Aussie Pub in London is claiming to be playing the best of Australian Music... some of the reasonable ones are INXS, Silverchair, Powder Finger and Paul Kelly - However other one the list and i wish they hadn't included the word 'best' when describing them are: Kevin Bloody Wilson, Slim Dusty and John Williamson... what the (?)
The other thing that i will miss this Aust Day is the JJJ hottest 100 - I have been talking to my new friends at work and telling them all about it. How we all have BBQs and listen to it and how 'important' voting is.. well i may have over done it but now that i'm missing out i feel it is important.
I voted this year for MUSIC - Bleed From Within, Breakin, and Welcome to the North, MISSY HIGGINS - Scar, 10 days, BERTIE BLACKMAN - Favourite Jeans, BASEMENT JAXX - Plug it in... and um a few more but they escape me....
My bet is Missy takes home the honors tho!
